Wonderful performances this evening as we say goodbye to our senior concert band and color guard students. Sad also to see Joe and Elliot go, but Jackie and Charlene are ready to jump in and hit the ground running. All in all, 2012 will forever be remembered as our finest...

Family and friends... the year just keeps getting better! Today in the mail we received a very special piece of recognition from ISSMA... the Lowell Wind Ensemble received our first ever WITH DISTINCTION award for an excellent performance at State Qualifications this past April!! With Distinction honors are given to groups that receive a certain combined total score by all the judges at contest. This is truly one of the more difficult accomplishments for a group at contest and there were very few given out in retrospect to the number of groups that go to ISSMA contests! Congratulations to the staff and kids for putting together an historic year for Olathe program.

Band Extravaganza is in full swing!! Great Pancake Breakfast last Saturday, excellent LMS Spring Concert this evening (congrats to the MS award winners!), LHS Spring Concert at 7pm on Thursday, and the first ever LHS / LMS Jazzy Drums Cafe on Friday at LMS at 6:00pm... lots going on in Lowell!

Congratulations to the family and friends of the Lowell Band Program after hosting yet another successful ISSMA contest site! The weekend was awesome and the band, orchestra, and choir directors and students, as well as the judges, had many compliments on the organization and dedication of the volunteers. On top of that, the Lowell Concert Band received excellent marks from all four judges and we narrowly missed our first ever With Distinction honor! However, with our Gold Rating today, the program will again receive the ISSMA All Music Award this year making it seven years in a row starting with our first in 2007. Congrats again and now on to State Quals!! #october

Tomorrow night, April 10th, the Lowell ubands will will have an open rehearsal to prepare for the upcoming ISSMA contest. The combined Concert Band and Freshman Band will practice from 5:30pm to 6:40pm on the stage at LHS. This will be followed by a wind ensemble practice from 6:45pm to 8:30pm. The percussion performers have duel responsibilities and will need to review their schedule to determine exact schedule. The Combined concert and fresman band will perform at LHS for the ISSMA concert this Saturday morning at 8:00am. They need to get to LHS at 6:45am to get dressed and ready. They will be done around 9:30. The concert is free and open to the public. Thank you.

Kudos to the Band Boosters and especially the exec board for putting on a phenomenal Spaghetti Dinner this evening!! All coordinated and well executed by our fearless president, Michelle Rosenbauer!!!!!!!

ISSMA Gold for the Lowell Jazz Ensemble!! What a night... Late depart, straight from his to stage, play a few notes and off to the races!!! Great feedback from the judges, three Gold scores equals one great night!

Awesome Jazz Band concert last night! The LMS Jazz Band was grooving, the LHS Intro Jazz Band was cooking, and the LHS Jazz Ensemble was smoking! Thanks to all that came out to enjoy the show.

An amazing day today for our band program... over 70 performers traveled to North Central High School for ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble. All 6 ensembles received GOLD!!! That was a total 65 kids! I don't have all the results for each of the 19 solos, but at this time I know we had several GOLDS and some really great performances! Way to represent!!!!

Big props to Mr. Govert and the members of the Lowell Middle School Band who performed today at the ISSMA Solo an Ensemble contest. Every middle schooler that performed today received a Gold Medal!!!

Tremendous success for Lowell Bands today at ISSMA Solo and Ensemble! Proud of everyone who performed. In the end, there are 6 ensembles consisting of 67 performers and 19 soloists that have qualified to perform at the ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble on February 25 in Indianapolis. Congratulations to all!!

The afternoon at ISSMA got even better with the Brass choir joining the ranks of Gold Medal recipients!
